Hyderabad to Be a Film Hub, Govt Will Address Films, Theaters Issues : Talasani

Cinematography and Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said that Hyderabad will be developed as a Film Hub with all facilities and help.

The State government will address all the issues of the film industry, theaters and push for shootings for promotions of the films and overcome corona losses, he said.

The Minister conducted a high-level review meeting at BRKR Bhavan here with Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar, and other officials.

Speaking on the occasion Srinivas Yadav said that Hyderabad will be developed as a film hub of the country. The state film chamber, film producers association, and theaters managements gave separate representations on the related issues, Srinivas Yadav stated. We have received them all and are examining the issues to be sorted out.

The film industry suffered a huge loss during the corona pandemic and theaters were shut besides shootings were not held. Theaters and producers suffered a loss due to no film screening and shooting and exhibition he noted. Due to lockdown and closure of the theaters, there are appeals on waiver of electricity charges and property taxes and the government will take a call, he clarified.

To develop Hyderabad as the Film Hub of the country the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has committed and held meetings so far.  We will take up the problems of the film industry, theaters, and related matters to the notice of the chief minister, Srinivas Yadav said. He also said that a decision in this regard will be taken after a meeting with the chief minister. he said.

The State government has a total commitment to promote cinemas, theaters, film shootings and provide all support. The government gave permission for screening of the fifth show and theaters were asked to open following the corona pandemic. Single window permissions are given for the film shootings to overcome related problems.

The state has many film shooting spots for taking the films and completing the process, he said. The government will develop Telugu Film Industry.
