Illegal Medical Shop Raided in Hyderabad, Drugs Worth Rs. 3.20 Lakhs Seized

Authorities from Telangana’s Drugs Control Administration (DCA) raided a medical store in IS Sadan, Santosh Nagar, Hyderabad, that was selling illegal drugs as part of a campaign against drug trafficking.

It was discovered that Mohammed Iltefath Ahmed, the store’s owner, was operating the medical facility illegally and distributing pharmaceuticals without the necessary drug license.

Authorities found a significant amount of medications during the operation, estimated to be worth Rs. 3.20 lakhs. 111 different types of pharmaceuticals were found in the confiscation, including “habit-forming drugs” such Tramadol, Alprazolam, Clonazepam, and Chlordiazepoxide. For analysis, samples of the drugs that were seized were obtained.

The operation is a component of the Drug Control Administration’s continuous efforts to stop the sale of illegal drugs and make sure that medical shops have the appropriate licenses to operate. The Drugs and Cosmetics Act prohibits the sale of drugs without a license, and offenders risk a maximum five-year prison sentence.

The perpetrators will be the subject of additional investigations and, in accordance with the law, appropriate judicial action. The Drugs Control Administration reaffirmed its dedication to upholding laws and preserving the integrity of the state’s pharmaceutical industry.
