According to data from the Union Health Ministry updated on Wednesday, India recorded 614 new coronavirus infections, the highest daily incidence since May 21. The total number of active cases now stands at 2,311.
The death toll has risen to 5,33,321, with three more deaths reported in Kerala in the last 24 hours.
The total number of Covid-19 cases in the country is now 4.50 crore (4,50,05,978). According to the health ministry’s website, the number of people who have recovered from the sickness has risen to 4,44,70,346, for a countrywide recovery rate of 98.81%. The case fatality rate is still 1.19%.

According to the health ministry’s website, 220.67 crore doses of Covid vaccinations have been administered in the country to date. The current rise in cases raises concerns about the pandemic’s ongoing management, and officials are continuing to monitor and respond to the changing situation.
