Pannun has been designated a terrorist by India. “If someone gives us any information, we will definitely look into it,” Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said. If one of our citizens has done anything good or terrible, we are ready to investigate.

He brushed aside the significance of single occurrences on diplomatic relations, saying, “I don’t think it’s appropriate to link a few incidents with diplomatic relations between the two countries.”

When the US Department of Justice unsealed an indictment accusing a sitting Indian government official of organizing the scheme, the charges arose. India acknowledged receiving feedback from the United States and established a high-level inquiry group to look into the matter.
