Indian PM Modi Responds to US Assassination Plot Allegations

For the first time, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has replied to allegations of an Indian assassination plot in the United States, pledging that India will investigate any proof offered.Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated India’s adherence to the rule of law and stated that he is willing to investigate the problem if credible information is offered.

The allegations came after the United States accused India of planning an assassination plot against Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the general lawyer for the separatist group Sikhs for Justice. Pannun has been designated a terrorist by India. “If someone gives us any information, we will definitely look into it,” Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said. If one of our citizens has done anything good or terrible, we are ready to investigate.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of India and the United States’ strong alliance, stressing bipartisan support for deepening the connection. He brushed aside the significance of single occurrences on diplomatic relations, saying, “I don’t think it’s appropriate to link a few incidents with diplomatic relations between the two countries.”

Addressing worries about extremist groups located abroad, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the difficulties created by such elements operating under the cover of free expression. He underlined the world’s interconnectedness and interdependence, asking for collaboration despite differences.
When the US Department of Justice unsealed an indictment accusing a sitting Indian government official of organizing the scheme, the charges arose. India acknowledged receiving feedback from the United States and established a high-level inquiry group to look into the matter.

Regardless of the dispute, India and the United States remain natural allies and strategic partners. Recognizing the intricacies of the global scene, both countries continue to engage in communication and collaboration on a variety of fronts.
