Investments worth Rs 4,200 crore bagged by Telangana at World Economic Forum

Telangana wrapped up the World Economic Forum (WEF) successfully, attracting investments worth Rs 4,200 crore across a variety of sectors, including mobility, health care, biotech, financial services, and others.

“An extremely productive trip comes to an end! It’s a fruitful and fulfilling 10 day trip to UK & @wef Davos,” KT Rama Rao wrote in a tweet. The Telangana team held 45 business meetings, four roundtables, and four-panel discussions during this time. The Minister expressed his gratitude to his team as well as the Telangana diaspora for making the event a success.

ZF, a German automotive major, announced the expansion in Hyderabad on the last day of the campaign led by Rama Rao. In addition, it agreed to be a major contributor to Telangana Mobility Valley. On June 1, the German auto parts maker will inaugurate its newest facility in Hyderabad. A total of Rs 322 crore was spent on its construction at Nanakramguda. There will be about 3,000 new jobs created as a result of the proposed facility.

As one of ZF’s 100 locations and 18 major development centres around the world, Hyderabad will be its largest facility.

ZF is the second company to announce its plans to join the Telangana Mobility Cluster. Automaker Hyundai announced earlier that it would invest Rs 1,400 crore in Hyderabad. Furthermore, Hyundai has announced that it will partner with Telangana State in the Mobility Valley. Investing in Hyderabad is a testament to the growing mobility market in Hyderabad, Rama Rao explained.

In addition to attending a series of meetings, the Telangana delegation engaged in panel discussions and interacted with top executives of global organizations during its 10-day visit to the UK and WEF Davos. Telangana was presenting itself as a business destination for global companies on the trip, thereby creating more employment opportunities for the youth within the State.

Rama Rao attended back-to-back meetings with business leaders in the UK before travelling to Davos to attend the WEF. In response to Rama Rao’s interactions, several companies expressed interest in investing in Telangana. At the WEF, Telangana’s pavilion, dubbed ‘India welcomes the world, Telangana First Stop,’ stood out from the rest.
