Hyderabad : Is former megastar and former Union Minister Chiranjeevi, who was continuing in Congress party after merging his Praja Rajyam party into Congress, wanted to stay away from politics? Chiranjeevi’s non-renewal of membership of the Congress party was proving the fact. After merging his Praja Rajyam party, Chiranjeevi was elected as Rajya Sabha member. Chiranjeevi stayed away from Congress as there were some unpleasant developments in the Congress party after the division of the united Andhra Pradesh State. He became busy with cinemas. He returned to cinema field with his blockbuster film 150th film ‘Khaidi Number 150’.
Presently, Chiranjeevi was busy with his next film ‘Syra Narasimha Reddy’, a freedom fighter’s biopic. It is learnt that Chiranjeevi wanted to continue in the film industry even after “Syra Narsimha Reddy” film. Chiranjeevi has not responded to the call given by Congress chief Rahul Gandhi to be active as the general elections were nearing. The Congress leaders were assuming that Chiranjeevi’s journey in Congress party was almost over.
Another version was that Chiranjeevi willingly become busy to see that Jana Sena chief and his brother Pawan Kalyan not to be disturbed with his continuation in the Congress party. Continuation of Chiranjeevi in the Congress party will attract criticism from other political parties like TDP and YSRCP. Both the TDP and YSRCP will criticize Pawan Kalyan and Chiranjeevi at a time if Chiranjeevi continued in Congress party as Pawan Kalyan was criticising all political parties except BJP. (NSS)
