Jagan Promised money 48 hours after paddy sale–No payment even after weeks: Pawan Kalyan

Mangalagiri: The government, which promised payments 48 hours after the sale at the paddy purchase centers, has cheated the farmers. The farmers are suffering as they didn’t get money even weeks after the sale of paddy.  They came to power promising farmers’ welfare and ‘bharosa’ (assurance) during the elections,  but they are not paying arrears after they assumed office, alleged the Jana Sena Party Chief Pawan Kalyan today.

The government owed to the tune of Rs 2016 crore till now to the farmers who sold their paddy. The due amount is increasing day by day. More than one lakh farmers are eagerly waiting for money towards the sale of paddy. When the farmers are subjected to inconvenience looking for money to raise the second crop, what are the concerned departments doing? The government shall clarify that when it is going to clear the dues to the farmers. It indicates irresponsibility of the government for not giving answers to the farmers, who are seeking payment towards paddy sale. The Jagan Reddy government has forgotten the assurance that the farmers will be paid 48 hours after paddy sale. The farmers are being caught in the debt trap as they did not get money even one month after the sale of paddy and on the other hand, they are unable to get money for raising the second crop.

We have already indicated the laxity of the government without proper planning in the purchase of Kharif crop and payments in December itself during the Rytu Soubhagya Deeksha. The government has to answer to the farming community that whether they allocated funds for paddy purchase or not? If allocated, where they have gone, Pawan said.
