Jaipal Reddy Likely to Contest To Assembly From Mahbubnagar

Mahbubnagar: Congress senior leader and former Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy was contemplating to contest the Assembly elections from Mahabubnagar constituency. In this context, Jaipal Reddy was calling key leaders in the party over phone personally leading to a discussion in political parties. Jaipal Reddy represented Assembly for three times before 1985 and later he went to Delhi.

Jaipal Reddy was Union Minister in Janatha Party government as well as UPA-1 and UPA-2 governments. The party high command was also suggesting the party senior leaders to contest Assembly elections as there were no Parliament elections now. Jaipal Reddy has followers in Kalwakurthy constituency from the beginning. Jaipal Reddy was elected to Assembly from this constituency only. Some local leaders were not acquainted well with sitting MLA Ch Vamshichand Reddy but Jaipal Reddy was suggesting the unhappy leaders to leave the issue of ‘who was their candidate’.

“The party has to win the Kalwakurthy seat because I am in CM post race. I will take care of you”, Jaipal Reddy advising the followers over phone. The phone calls have become a point of debate in state politics now. (NSS)
