Standing Committees Will Also Be Presented In The House

Reports suggest that the standing committees of Transport Tourism and culture, Other Backward Class and Chemical and Fertilizer will also be presented in the House.

This comes after the Lok Sabha on Tuesday passed two bills, the Essential Defence Services Bill, 2021 and the Tribunals Reforms Bill, 2021 amidst the protests from the Opposition. The Essential Defence Services Bill was passed by a voice vote. The opposition called the Bill “draconian that would deprive employees of their democratic rights to protest”.

However, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh confirmed that they had already taken all the employee unions into confidence before passing the bill. The Parliament Tuesday approved the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (Amendment) Bill, 2021, with its passage through the Rajya Sabha.
