Kaleshwaram complete despite cases: KCR

Hyderabad: Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao today criticised  the opposition parties for  making false charges against the government on Kaleshwaram project and works. Talking to media persons at Dharmapuri after  having an aerial view of the barrages of the project, KCR has said that farmers and people should ignore the false charges of the opposition parties.

The project to lift about 400 tmc waters  costs only about Rs 5000 crore per annum and the government is ready to spend even Rs 15000 crore for irrigating the lands. A total of 45 lakh acres will be brought under irrigation. ‘We succeeded in Mission Bhagiratha, power supply to farm sector’ he claimed.

“We have designed the project after examining the 44 years of records of CWC (Central Water Commission) and remarks against this are totally wrong. The plan is to lift 360 tmc waters for six months that is six tmc every month and getting 4000 mw power from Ramagundam. We are getting 3 tmc waters to Yellampally from Medigadda and from there 2 tmc at Mallanna Sagar. For four days 4-5 tmc going down wards from Medigadda”,  he said. Godavari is full with waters for year long at Dharmapuri due to our measures. He said that about 100 tmc waters are available,  spread in 250 km in Godavari river now with our project and barrages built in record time of three years.

The project gets 400 tmc waters other than erstwhile Godavari waters and storage will be 6 to 8 tmc already now exists 7 TMC. To lift the waters power bills costs the government only Rs 4992 cr (Rs 5000 cr roughly) per annum and asked the officials to reduce the bills in future. When there is more availability lifting time will be reduced to bring down bills, he added. (NSS).
