Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will launch the Kanti Velugu programme in his home constituency. Other ministers of the state were also requested to launch the programme at their respective constituencies.
K Chandrashekar Rao met Governor E S L Narasimhan at the Raj Bhavan here on Sunday. A Government scheme for eye check up of every citizen for ailments and invited Mr Narasimhan for its launch on August 15.
KCR said that operation for the eye diseases like cataract, glaucoma, retinopathy and corneal disorders will be treated under the scheme.
He said everyone in the State should have the facility of free eye tests and all the people who require spectacles and medicines, will be supplied these free of cost after the examinations. “ Even surgeries will be conducted free of cost. The Health Department should ensure the readiness and availability of required staff, make the necessary arrangements to keep ready the required staff, medical equipment, vehicles, spectacles and medicines,” Chandrashekhar Rao said.
