Hyderabad : Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy strongly condemned caretaker minister K. Tarakarama Rao for his remarks against AICC President Rahul Gandhi. Gudur Narayana Reddy, in a media statement on Sunday, said that by targeting Rahul Gandhi, KTR was trying to cover up anti-Dalit face of TRS which has been exposed by the Congress president during speeches at Bhainsa and Kamareddy. He said caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao came to power on the promise of making a Dalit CM. However, KCR himself acquired the top post and started treating all Dalits as his personal enemies. “Why KTR does not speak about KCR’s promise of a Dalit CM?” he asked.
The Congress leader reminded how KCR insulted and removed Dr. T. Rajaiah, a SC leader, from the post of Deputy CM unceremoniously. Funds were not released properly for the SC welfare and all incidents of atrocities on Dalits were ignored. He said that the TRS Government did not react when a Dalit girl was gang-raped in Karimnagar on February 2016. He said that Rahul Gandhi has rightly pointed out that KCR has insulted Dr. B.R. Ambedkar by removing his name from Pranahita Chevella Srujala Sravanthi to Kaleshwaram Project. “Just like BJP, which keeps changing names of projects and places that matches their Hindutva image, KCR too replaced Dr. Ambedkar’s name with Kaleshwaram to please his bosses in Delhi,” he alleged. The Congress leader also questioned KCR on the status of 125-feet statue of Dr. Ambedkar which KCR had promised to install in the city. Gudur Narayana Reddy alleged that KCR hates Dr. Ambedkar to the extent that he does not like Constitution of India draft by the great leader. “KCR never respected the Constitution and tried to replace several Central Acts like the Land Acquisition with State Acts. KCR will be remembered in the history as the only Chief Minister who openly violated the Constitution just because it was drafted by Dr. Ambedkar.
