KCR should take responsibility for land encroachment: Congress

Hyderabad: Alleging that the land encroachments by ruling TRS party leaders are on the rise in the state, Congress Party’s Kisan Cell today said that the chief minister of the state KCR should take up responsibility for the encroachments of the valuable lands.

The Vice President of all India Kisan cell and veteran Congress leader M. Kodanda Reddy alleged that the ruling Party leaders were encroaching upon the valuable lands by taking advantage of the corrupt revenue system of the state and corrupt officials of the revenue department. He said that the CM had created hopes among the farmers of the state by promising to introduce a new revenue act in the state to end corruption in the revenue department. He said that a farmer of the state had killed a Tahsildar after losing hope to get his pattadar passbook. He said that several farmers of the state were committing suicides by burning themselves for their pattadar passbooks. He alleged that the problem of the farmers had begun when the CM had launched the pattadar passbook distribution program in May 2018 at Karimnagar.

He said that 10 to 12 lakh farmers of the state had not received the pattadar passbooks so far. He said that the flagship land purification program of the state government had also not completed even after two and half years of its launch. He said that CM KCR had failed to fulfill his promise of issuing new pattadar passbooks even for the owners of one or two guntas of land. Referring to the orders of the CM to issue pattadar passbooks to his Gajwel assembly constituency farmers, he asked KCR  if he was the CM of his constituency Gajwel or the entire state.
