KCR to attend Independence Day fete at Golconda

Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Dr S K Joshi today directed officials concerned to take measures for perfect arrangements for Independence Day Celebrations at Golconda Fort on August 15.

He made a visit to the fort and inspected the arrangements and held a review meeting with the officials.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will hoist the National Flag on at the Golcond Fort and fool proof arrangements have to be made he said.

The Chief Minister will pay tributes at Martyrs Memorial at Parade Ground in Secunderabad and then move to the fort for to hoist Tricolour, he said. SK Joshi asked the officials to conduct cultural programs through wide gamut of art forms. Ensure that tight security is provided for peaceful conduct of the Independence Day Celebrations on August 15. He also asked the officials to take up patch works to the roads in the wake of rainy season and see that people find smooth ride on the roads. Since a large number of students will participate in the event water supply has to be made in advance and also security to avert any incident he said.

Joshi asked the officials of GHMC to keep the premises clean with regular sanitation and upkeep besides taking measures for uninterrupted power and water supply and fire tenders at the fort. Joshi asked the information wing to take steps for special seating gallery for media persons, mikes, LED screens and publicity and also seating for VIPs and officials. Those present were GAD Principal Secretary Aadar Sinah, R&B Principal Secretary Sunil Sharma, Water Board Chief, Dana Kishore, City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, IG Shikha Goel, Hyderabad Collector Yogita Rana, Information Department Director Nagaiah and others participated.
