Hyderabad: Congress MP from Bhongir Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Monday made sensational remarks against Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and his son IT Minister K Taraka Ramarao were dangerous than wild animals.
The Congress MP said though the people under Yadagirigutta municipality had given majority to the Congress, the ruling TRS leaders were trying to bag the municipal chairperson’s post by using votes of ex-officio members. He alleged that the ruling party leaders have made arrangements to utilize the vote of party MLC and former deputy chief minister Kadiyam Srihari during the election of the municipal chairperson.
Venkat Reddy alleged that the ruling party was trying to grab the chairperson’s post through illegal means. He also alleged that the ruling party was “butchering” democracy in the presence of Sri Laxmi Narasimha Swami. Alleging that the Chief Minister’s daughter former MP K. Kavitha had bought 500 acres in Turkapally in the name of benamis, the Congress MP said he has pucca evidence to prove his allegations. He also said the CM had done nothing for development of Yadagirigutta although the latter had visited the temple town 12 times. He also alleged that the TRS leaders were trying to win the Nalgonda municipal chairperson’s post with the help of the MIM and the BJP. He alleged that the TRS leaders had forcibly taken away an Independent candidate to their camp.
Referring to the elections held in Choutuppal municipality, he said they spared seven seats to the CPM and the party MLA from Munugodu ensured victory of three CPM candidates. He alleged that the TRS leaders have offered Rs 2 crore as party fund in exchange of their party’s support to win the municipal chairperson’s post. He said when his brother Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy was arrested when he raised the issue during the election of the municipal chairman. He demanded that the State government release his brother immediately.
