KTR bashes private hospitals for Covid-19 treatment billings

Hyderabad: As the state government has said to provide good quality of treatment to the COVID-19 patients in government hospitals, IT minister KTR has alert the private hospitals against charging patients with heavy bills.

KTR also mentions that state government had already taken action on such hospitals and will not be a delay to move against more private Hospitals he also said that people should understand that government hospitals are providing good and better service For covid-19.

He also said that COVID 19 testing is already ongoing in more than 1200 centers in the state and over 23000 test is being conducted every day and it will be increased by 40000 tests par day in few days . he pointed out that the mortality rate is less than one percent in the state, the recovery rate is highest in the country at 72 percent. “Instead of spreading anti-government information against the government hospitals, people should recognize the service being provided by the government hospitals, where many of the people have already been recover and send home safely, he also pointed out that those who were refuse for the treatment in the private hospital were also been treated in government hospitals Mr. Rama Rao said how it is important to strengthen the health sector not only in Telangana state but also all over the world after Coivd-19 experience.

He said after the formation of the state, various programs have been undertaken to bring down the infant and maternal mortality rate. He mentions government has stated 5 government medical colleges and has introduced Intensive Care Units (ICU) in several areas hospitals, and more than 40 free dialysis centers are also been set up across the state he also added more than 200 Basti Dawa khana is working in the state.

The minister stated that the government alone cannot fight with the ongoing pandemic and want people to join in the battle against coronavirus across the world. He wants people to abandon fear and miss information about coronavirus as well as remain calm towards the patients. Mr. Rao said that fear psychosis, stigma, and social ostracism are causing a lot of grief, I am in pain to see the story of an old couple committing suicide recently to not infect their family.

Mr. Rao assured that the Health sector let by minister Eatala Rajender is actively monitoring the private hospitals and will take necessary actions and he said the government is also coordinating on plasma therapy.
Mr. Rao strictly mentions that Telangana is not in the race with any other state in ongoing coronavirus pandemic, each state has its own challenges which are been delt by WHO and ICMR guidelines.

In the estimated time to be taken for Covid-19 vaccine released, Mr. Rao said he was expecting that vaccine will come from Telangana first but will also be happy if it comes up from another country, He also said that he was told by the vaccine manufacturers that it will take 6 to 9 months to release the vaccine.
