KTR hits out at Congress, PM Modi for their continued failures

Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao hit out at the Congress party on Monday for failing to develop the state despite ruling it for 55 years.

Addressing a gathering after handing over ownership documents to occupants of lands owned by the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) in Bellampalli, the Minister criticized TPCC president A Revanth Reddy for urging the people to give the Congress a chance to rule the state.

Asking what the Congress had done for Telangana during its 55-year reign, he said people faced a slew of challenges, with the party completely ignoring Telangana’s development.

Every summer, Bellampalli used to face a severe water crisis, the Minister said. But, thanks to Mission Bhagiratha, drinking water is now available at every home’s doorstep. Farmers in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh were struggling to get an uninterrupted supply of power. They were now getting 24 hours of free power.

The credit goes to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s efforts to ensure quality electricity for agricultural needs, he said, urging people to compare development and welfare schemes in neighboring Chhattisgarh, which is ruled by the Congress, and those in Telangana.

Rama Rao also went after Prime Minister Narendra Modi also, criticizing him for failing to deliver on his promise in 2014 to credit Rs.15 lakh into public accounts.

Modi, who was looking to protect the interests of his friend Gautam Adani, had earlier criticized former PM Manmohan Singh for hiking the price of LPG cylinders to around Rs.400. However, under his rule, the price had now reached Rs.1,200 per cylinder, he stated.

He questioned why the BJP was now organizing padayatras demanding jobs in Telangana, despite Modi’s assurance of two crore jobs per annum. He dared Modi to approve a medical college in Bellampalli, where the state government had recently built a 100-bed hospital.

The Minister also called out BJP State President Bandi Sanjay for dubbing Modi a God. “How come Modi is a god? Is he a God for raising the cost of LPG cylinders, essentials and fuel? For whom is he a God?” he asked.

He predicted that the upcoming elections would be a battle between creators and destroyers.

Later, after inaugurating the Ramagundam Police Commissionerate office in Godavarikhani, he stated that the State police were working on par with Army personnel protecting the country on the border to maintain internal security.

During the Statehood movement, there were concerns about communal and extremist threats if Telangana was formed. However, proving all doubts wrong, the Telangana Police Department has emerged as a national role model for maintaining law and order, utilizing technology, and providing better services to the public.

In implementing various schemes for the welfare of the police, the State government had also become a role model for the nation.

Referring to martyred cop Kistaiah, the Minister stated that the State government had provided all possible assistance to his family. Kistaiah’s daughter Priyanka was assisted in her MBBS studies in addition to providing a job for his son. She was now working as a doctor in a Basthi Dawakhana in Karimnagar.
