Municipal and IT Minister KT Rama Rao today unveiled the statue of Colonel Santhosh Babu, a Galvan attack martyr at Suryapet in Telangana state.
Army officer died in the Chinese army attack at Galwan Valley in eastern Lakadakh in June last year. Santosh Babu’s wife Santoshi too was present. Energy Minister, G Jagadish Reddy and family members of Sathish Babu, KTR have offered floral tributes to the soldier.
He offered garland to the 9 ft tall bronze statue of the martyr at court crossroad in Suryapet town.

Jagadish Reddy also offered garland to the statue followed by family members of the martyr. The state government has set up the statue at a cost of Rs 20 lakhs in memory of the soldier.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has kept the promise of setting up the statue to commemorate his first death anniversary. Local leaders and people paid tributes to Colonel Santhosh Babu on the occasion.
