KTR strongly promotes Telangana model in the UK, seeks investment

Telangana IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao (KTR), who is currently on a tour of the United Kingdom (UK), pitched Telangana as an ‘ideal investment destination’ at an investment roundtable hosted by HE Vikram K. Doraiswami, India’s High Commissioner in London. Potential investors from various industries attended the round table.

The Minister’s presentation highlighted Telangana’s’remarkable growth’ over the last nine years, emphasizing its progress in addressing basic issues and prioritizing innovation and infrastructure development. He emphasized that Telangana’s economy is expanding rapidly, with tremendous growth in agriculture and information technology. “At the same time, rapid industrialization and improvement in green cover was witnessed,” he added.

Minister KTR also discussed Telangana’s “progressive industrial policy and revolutionary single window system, TS-iPASS, which streamlines investment processes and reduces bureaucratic red tape”.

Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, was described as a “tech powerhouse,” with the highest number of tech jobs in the country. The minister also highlighted the state’s robust ecosystem for the electronics, aerospace and defense, food processing, mobility, and textiles sectors during his presentation, according to a press release.

Telangana, KTR said, has the “most comprehensive innovation ecosystem,” with research organizations, educational institutions, startups, and marquee companies from a variety of industries. The Minister specifically mentioned collaborations between the Telangana government and UK educational institutions such as King’s College and Cranfield University.

The Industries Minister went on to say that Telangana is located on the Deccan Plateau, which is free of natural disasters. He explained to prospective investors how Telangana has five revolutions that offer numerous opportunities for the food processing sector. “The Telangana government is committed to providing investors with a favorable and inclusive environment to promote partnerships and celebrate investments,” the Minister said.

During the investment roundtable in London, HE. Vikram K. Doraiswami, Indian High Commissioner in London, highlighted numerous collaboration opportunities in sectors such as heavy machinery, aviation and defense, entertainment, and education.

He praised Hyderabad for its world-class infrastructure and multicultural environment, which make it an ideal investment destination. Doraiswami emphasized the significance of creating relationships and celebrating investments.

During an investment roundtable hosted by the Indian High Commission in London, British Indian businessman Karan Bilimoria praised Telangana’s remarkable achievements.

He praised the state’s infrastructure, praising the new Dr. BR Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat in particular as “fabulous.” Bilimoria also lauded Telangana’s notable development over the last decade, with the state more than doubling its per capita income in less than ten years.

He was happy to hear about the growth and development of his hometown of Hyderabad, which he described as “great news.”

The event was attended by Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary of the IT and Industries Departments, and E Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, Special Secretary, Investment Promotion and NRI Affairs.
