Lawyers Take Over Street Over Brutal Murder of Advocate Couple

Advocate couple brutally murdered in Telangana. Telangana lawyers boycott courts and organize protests. The couple was stabbed in broad daylight and succumbed to injuries in the hospital.

Several lawyers of Telangana High Court and of several other courts in the state had boycotted the proceedings of court to join the protests against the brutal murder of an advocate couple in the Peddapali district of Telangana.

On a call given by Telangana Bar Associations, advocates boycotted the courts, staged protest demonstrations and took out rallies.

All court cases came to a halt and a standstill as the lawyers and advocates apprehended themselves from re-joining duties and organised the protests, and demanded with strong action against the murderers and requested special measures for their protection.

Protests were carried out to create blockade and traffic jam on L.B. Nagar and Dilsukhnagar road. A procession of protestors also tried to move towards Raj Bhavan but were eventually detained by police.

The horrific crime was caught on camera, of the advocate couple which were practicing law in the Telangana High Court were brutally murdered in broad daylight by unknown convicts in Peddapalli district past Wednesday.

The victims, Gattu Vamana Rao and his wife Gattu Nagamani, were returning by their car to Hyderabad after appearing for a case hearing in a local court in Manthani district, were stabbed brutally and mercilessly by unknown persons, who arrived in a SUV, near Kalwacheral in Ramagiri mandal.

The Video which went viral on social media platforms depict that Vamana Rao aged 53 and his wife Nagamani aged 50, being mercilessly stabbed by two individuals on the road. The couple succumbed to injuries and eventually died at a hospital.

Advocates who were practicing at Nampally, Secunderabad, Kukatpally and Ranga Reddy district courts carried out protests, and demanded immediate and harsh punishments to the convicts.
Addressing protestors, the leaders of the Bar Associations said that the government must take serious action in light of the incident and bring the assailants to capital punishment.
The Bar Council of Telangana strongly condemned the merciless killing of the advocate couple. It also demanded the Telangana police to probe into the murders and arrest the convicts.

The Bar commented that the nation is witnessing rising number of attacks on advocates and lawyers and said that no person can take law into hands and that the convict must be dealt with stringent punishments.
