Leopard kills four cattle in Vikarabad, panic villagers put forest officials on their toes

Recent incidents of a purported leopard preying cattle one after another from Rajendranagar to the Vikarabad district put the forest officials on their toes. Following the incident in Rajendranagar, where a leopard injured a cow but ran away without feeding the animal, the fresh incident reported today from Neighbouring Vikarabad district where a purported Cheetah killed four goats in the wee hour bringing back the panic again in the area.

The incident happened today morning near a forest area of Kamasamudram village in Kulkacherla Mandal under Vikarabad district wherein a leopard killed four goats by attacking the herd busy in grazing in the village. Lalaiah, the owner of the goats, brought the herd for grazing as usual in the village. However, the local farmers and Shepherds later found four of the goats lying in a pool of blood and pushed a panic button realizing that the cattle fell prey to the hands of a leopard. They soon informed the local forest officials about the incident who later visited the spot and took stock of the situation.

It is said that the forest officials are still combing the area for any conclusive proof of a prowling wild beast.

The same day the people of Balkal village in Vikarabad district flabbergasted when a crocodile was found in an open pit that was dug up quite a few days back by the locals itself.
