Man Allegedly Hijacks TSRTC Bus, Collects Fares from Passengers, and Flees

On Sunday night, a guy allegedly hijacked a TSRTC bus from the Siddipet bus terminal and drove it until passengers discovered he wasn’t the legitimate driver. After collecting fares from passengers, the suspect who stole the bus linked to the state-owned transport firm managed to flee.

On Monday, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) bus was stopped for a supper break at the Siddipet bus station. The bus was traveling from Sircilla to Jubilee Bus Station.

The burglar boarded the bus after noting that the driver had departed for supper, took over the driver’s seat, and drove away. The actual driver was astonished to discover the bus was missing and immediately notified higher authorities. The robber had boarded the bus and driven it to a wharf where passengers were awaiting their journey to Hyderabad.

After hijacking the bus, he drove it to a station parking lot and informed passengers that the vehicle would leave for Hyderabad on Monday morning. Many passengers boarded the bus, but they were skeptical because there was no conductor.

When asked about the missing conductor by passengers, the driver stated that the conductor would board at the next station and continued driving dangerously. This generated additional concerns among passengers about whether he was a genuine RTC driver.

The bus eventually ran out of fuel, forcing the driver to pull over on the side of the road. The impersonator fled the scene before passengers could realize what was going on. Some passengers recorded and photographed the man, prompting TSRTC authorities in Siddipet to file a police report.

The culprit has apparently been identified and detained by police, and an investigation is underway. The identify of the accused has not yet been revealed by the police.
