Hyderabad: Congress General Secretary Manavatha Roy on Wednesday made some interesting remarks about party’s firebrand leader Vijayasanti. Urging Vijayashanthi to contest elections from Khammam parliamentary seat, Roy said they would welcome the move and work hard for her victory in the upcoming parliament elections.
Addressing mediapersons here today, Roy said Vijayasanti was a known figure across the country and fought very hard for the creation of separate Telangana State. He said that several non-local and migrant leaders had won elections from the Khammam MP seat in the past and added that he would work hard for the victory of Vijayasanti in order to make the party president Rahul Gandhi as the next Prime Minister of the country.
Commenting on his own political future, Roy said he would urge Rahul Gandhi to field him from Warangal MP seat in the upcoming elections. Vijayasanti became MP for the first time from Medak MP seat. (NSS)
