Hyderabad: The Telangana State Pollution Control Board (TSPSCB) has issued instructions for monitoring the pollution levels by collecting samples from Hussain Sagar lake scientifically by following the CPCB guidelines, before, during and after the Ganesh idol immersion period. The TSPSCB wanted the Central Laboratory to collect the samples to know the impact on the water body due to idol immersion.
The Board said that monitoring has to be carried out at six different locations i.e. two locations at NTR Park and one each in Lumbini Park, Necklace Road, near Lepakshi Handicvrats (near Immersion point) and Buddha Statue (midstream). Samples have to be collected before immersion on August 26, during immersion on September 3,5,8,11 and 12; and after immersion on Sept 20, 2019. (NSS)
