Moosarambagh retaining wall along Musi River to be constructed at a cost of Rs 53 crore

Animal Husbandry Minister T.Srinivas Yadav announced that Rs 53 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of a retaining wall along the Musi river flowing through Moosarambagh.

To prevent flooding in low areas in the city, the Strategic Nala Development Programme (SNDP) works have been undertaken.

Storm water drain networks were being renovated within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s limits and surrounding areas as part of SNDP.

200 dilapidated structures torn down by the GHMC

More than 200 dilapidated structures facing collapse by heavy rain have been demolished by the Town Planning wing of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) during the monsoon. As part of the earlier survey, the civic body recognized dilapidated structures and took all precautionary steps, such as confirming structural stability and issuing notices. To demolish these structures, a special drive is being launched in the city.

231 of the 620 structures identified this year were demolished; 294 were repaired, vacated, or seized, according to a Town Planning official. All steps are being taken on the remaining structures by the GHMC. Any inmate resistance to demolition will be counseled either to vacate the premises or to seize it, with movement restricted around it and stenciling on unsafe structures done.

A total of 50 dilapidated structures have been demolished in the LB Nagar zone, and 60 have been seized. There were 89 dilapidated structures in the Charminar zone, of which 42 were demolished and 35 were repaired.

A total of 109 structures were identified in the Khairatabad zone, 34 of which were demolished, and 52 of which were vacated. The Secunderabad zone identified 155 structures, 43 of which were demolished, and 63 of which were sealed.

Among the 62 structures identified in the Serilingampally zone, 19 have been demolished while 38 have been repaired. A total of 92 structures were identified in the Kukatpally zone, 43 of which were demolished, and 46 were vacated.
