Muslim intellectual’s bats for ‘Task Force’ to curb dowry devastation

A poignant incident of a suicide where in a Gujarati Muslim women Ayesha took his life unable to put up alleged dowry harassment by her husband, has stroke a sense of introspection among the Muslim community here in Hyderabad as many organizations are coming forward to unwinding the social enigma of ‘Dowry’ that has tormented many life and ravaged families beyond limit.

Although there are many but this particular incident leaves a wound rankles deep into the heart and gave deep insight into the world of greed and avarice prevalent in the community against the true belief of Sharia Law. Atleast for now it has been realised that the prevalence of dowry in the society making a deep wound and bring a blot on the community’s face besides making marriages especially of poor girls colossally improbable.

To discuss all these elements and social enigma of the society, the a round table conference of the leaders of all parties in the city chaired by Mushtaq Malik, President of Tahreek Muslim Shabban a famous political and social fold in the old city.

During the meeting it was suggested to form colony wise Task Forces comprising of local youths to impart sense of purpose and prudence among people celebrating marriages imposing splendours and imperious solemnities. “The teams should approach the function halls ornate lavishly and explain the organizers about the social harm of having such frivolous ceremonies. It would be more helpful if we have check points at colony level to ensure there would be no more bootless celebrations henceforth. At least shake their modesty by explaining them the demerits of such cosmetic celebrations and social profanity,” assert Mushtaq Malik.

The round table meeting witnessed the presence of several religious luminaries, intellectuals, eminent leaders, socialists, reformers and representatives of various NGOs among them notably Amjadullah Khan Khaled Spokesperson Majlis Bachao Tahreek (MBT), Aleem Falki and others.
