‘National Integration Day’ rally planned after Friday prayer by AIMIM

After the Friday prayer, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) will hold a rally commemorating National Integration Day. It will start at Masjid-e-Abu Bakr and conclude at Tegal Kunta, Old City of Hyderabad.

AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi will lead the rally. Owaisi will address the crowd once the rally reaches Tegal Kunta.

The rally details were provided by Owaisi in a video uploaded by the official Twitter account of the AIMIM party.

In addition to offering Friday prayer at Masjid-e-Abu Bakr, the MP will lead a bike rally, ‘Tiranga Rally,’ along with all AIMIM legislators and corporators.

It is expected that over 15000 people will participate in the bike rally to celebrate ‘National Integration Day’.

Yesterday, BJP’s women’s wing held a rally from Charminar to mark ‘Hyderabad Liberation Day.’

The rally was attended by Union Minister G Kishan Reddy. The women’s wing of the BJP took out a rally from Charminar dressed in saffron.

For a whole year, the BJP planned a series of events in Telangana, Karnataka, and Maharashtra to celebrate ‘Hyderabad State Liberation Day’.

‘Operation Polo’, also known as ‘Police Action’, was the operation that allowed Hyderabad state to be formally annexed to India on September 17, 1948.

AIMIM and TRS refer to the day as ‘National Integration Day’, while the BJP calls it ‘Hyderabad Liberation Day’ to target Nizam’s rule.

Telangana Cabinet had earlier decided to hold the opening ceremony of “Vajrotsavalu of Telangana National Integration” over three days in September 2022.

On August 15, 1947, India gained independence from British rule with 552 princely states.

A total of 549 of them joined the Indian union, while Hyderabad, Kashmir, and Junagadh were hesitant.

Hari Singh, the ruler of Kashmir, decided to join the Indian union after an uprising in the western districts and attacks from the Northwest Frontier Provinces.

Junagadh, a princely state in Gujarat, wanted to join the Pakistan union, but the Indian government sent the military into the erstwhile state and annexed it.

In the case of the erstwhile Hyderabad State, which included the current Telangana state, a few districts of Karnataka and Maharashtra joined the Indian Union after the seventh Nizam, Mir Osman Ali Khan, agreed to sign an instrument of accession.
