National Stock Exchange System Shuts Down; Brokers Impact

The trading on the National Stock Exchange of India has come to a halt this morning. The halt is said to have seriously impacted the futures and cash segments of the stock exchange.

Trading Systems Remain Shut Due To Technical Glitch

As per the latest updates, the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) came to a halt during an intra-day session today. The reason so far is due to some technical glitch. However, the team working on it will update soon if there any other reason detected.

The glitched occured around 10:08 am as the system stopped updating the details. This further led to the closure of the F&O segment around 11:40 am and the cash market closed at 11:43 am.

The NSE spokesperson released a statement after the incident. He said that the NSE has a couple of telecom links with two different service providers. This ensures that there is constant supply of services even if one goes wrong. However, he said that they received information from both the providers saying that there were some issues with their servers because of which the system stopped responding.

The spokesperson further said that they have a team of people working on the system and will update the details as soon as possible. The system will be restored after the glitch is fixed.

Trading Companies Express Concerns On Twitter

The stock broking website, Zerodha took to Twitter to inform their customers. They said that the trading at the NSE for all the brokers. The company (zerodha) was waiting for the system to get online. Zerodha further said that they can use BSE for equity orders.

In another Tweet, Zerodha said that there were some issues with the lie ticks for NSE indices. They have already contacted NSE for the same.

Anitha Gandhi, Director of the Arihant Capital Markets also took to Twitter to share her concerns over the NSE halt. She said that a lot of the brokers go to the NSE website but the halt has made a huge impact on trading. However, it is fortunate that some of the brokers use BSE as a backup.
