New Guidelines Announced by Hyderabad Metro as Services Commence from Next Week

The Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) is good to go to continue its services for people in from September 7, after over five months. In the track of the COVID-19 pandemic, the centre had to put a halt on the metro rail services in the final week of March.

To refrain from congestion at the station, the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited on Thursday delivered new rules for running metro rails.

Leading an audit meeting on Thursday with all the senior authorities, Managing Director of HMRL, NVS Reddy talked on the readiness and safeguard measures to be taken for the resumption of Hyderabad Metro rail services.

Metro services will be continued stage-wise in an evaluated way from the 7 of this current month (Monday). The stages that are spread throughout the following days will be reported soon. The stations in containment areas (around 5 stations) will be shut for traveler traffic.

Broad Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the resumption of Hyderabad metro rail services are as per the following:

 

  1. Recurrence of trains will be around 5 minutes; it will be improved or reduced dependent on traveler traffic and to abstain from swarming.

 

  1. So as to guarantee social distancing, appropriate markings at stations and inside trains are being made for travelers to stand. Alternate seats will be stamped with an x inside the train and kept empty.

 

  1. Social distancing would be checked through CCTV by OCC, Station regulator and Train Operators.

 

  1. Wearing a face cover is required for all travelers and staff. Metro Rail will make adjustments for the supply of face masks on fee premise to the people showing up without masks. Fitting punishment according to guideline will be forced for any infringement.

 

  1. Just asymptomatic people will be permitted to go after thermal screening at the entrance into the stations. People that show symptoms should go to a close-by COVID Care Center/Hospital for testing/medical consideration. Utilization of Aarogys-Setu Application would be encouraged.

 

  1. Pedal sort sanitizers will be kept at the entrance into the stations for use by travelers.

 

  1. Appropriate PPE packs and sanitizers will be given to workers/security faculty, who are probably going to be in close contact with commuters and for a long period of time.

 

  1. Thinking about the capability of Corona to spread rapidly, security workforce/private guards have been told to guarantee satisfactory safety while searching travelers without weakening security practices.

 

  1. Smart Card and Mobile QR tickets with cashless/online exchanges will be advised.

 

  1. Travelers will be encouraged to go with the least amount of baggage and abstain from carrying metallic things for simple and brisk scanning. They will be urged to carry a small container of sanitizer with them.

 

  1. Parking spots would be opened for the metro patrons according to rules.

 

  1. Mock drills keeping view different situations post Covid-19 are being directed before initiation of the metro activity.

 

  1. Metro Rail will keep close contact with State police, medical specialists and neighbourhood administration for directing crowds outside stations and to manage emergencies

Metro activities will be continued in a reviewed way:

Stage I

From seventh Sept 2020 onwards.

Passage 1(Miyapur to LB Nagar) would be made operational.

Services would be from 0700 hrs. to 1200 hrs. in the morning and 1600 hrs. to 2100 hrs. in the night.

Stage II

From eighth Sept 2020 onwards.

Passageway 3 (Nagole to Raidurgam) would likewise be made operational.

Services would be from 0700 hrs. to 1200 hrs. in the morning and 1600 hrs. to 2100 hrs. in the night.

Stage III

From ninth Sept 2020 onwards.

All the three Passageways (C1, C2 and C3) will be made operational.

Services would be from 0700 hrs. to 2100 hrs. in the night.

Recurrence of trains will be around 5 min; It will be increased or reduced dependent on traveler traffic and to abstain from swarming.

Metro services in the containment areas will remain closed: Musheerabad, Yusufguda, Bharat Nagar, Moosapet and Gandhi Hospital.
