Nights in Hyderabad to Get Colder as Winter Sets In

While winter has yet to fully arrive, people in Hyderabad have already begun to experience chilly nights in recent days, with temperatures beginning to drop noticeably.

Though the daytime temperature in the state capital remains just below 30 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature at night, which was previously 19-21 degrees Celsius, has now dropped to 16 degrees Celsius.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, the minimum temperature at night on Sunday was 16 degrees Celsius. The weatherman predicts clear blue skies, warm days, and cool nights for the next few days.

According to the Telangana State Development and Planning Society (TSDPS), Rajendranagar in the GHMC limits had the lowest minimum temperature of 15 degrees C, while Nyalkal in the Sangareddy district had the lowest in Telangana at 13.1 degrees C. Temperatures in a few other districts across the state ranged from 14 to 15 degrees Celsius.

The IMD-Hyderabad forecast predicts that dry weather will prevail across the city and other parts of the state for the next week. However, the nighttime temperature is likely to drop by a degree or two, making the nights and early mornings chilly. The IMD-Hyderabad has also predicted haze in the city and surrounding areas in the coming days.

As per reports, the weather in Hyderabad would be partly cloudy. During the morning hours in the city, mist or haze is very likely.   Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon has retreated over much of the state.

According to the IMD, conditions are favorable for the southwest monsoon to withdraw from the entire country. The monsoon this year was quite active across the state, arriving in Telangana in mid-June and remaining active until October. Between June 1 and October 22, the state received a whopping 1,216.7 mm of rain, compared to a normal rainfall of 804.8 mm.
