Niranjan Reddy Emphasized to Adopt Technology, Mechanisation for More Yield

Telangana Minister for Agriculture Singireddy Niranjan Reddy has emphasized that there is a need of improving technology and mechanization in the agriculture sector for improving the quality of produce.

Addressing a convention organized at Acharya Jayashankar Agriculture University here on Tuesday, the Minister said the agriculture sector is a life line for the Indian economy and it can be still generated employment to a large number of people by unveiling new innovations and introducing the mechanisation at various levels.

The Minister also asked the farmers to focus on profit-making crops than the traditional crops and to follow new methods for producing the highest yield.

“There is abundant demand for cotton across the globe but there is still a huge gap between the demand and supply. Despite India having a record level of cultivation area in about 3.20 crore acres, the country is still logging behind the quality production of crop compared to other countries,” Niranjan Reddy  said.

The Minister asked the officials to encourage a single pick variety of cotton and to be sensitive to them in this regard.
