With an aim to work together in the field of rural development and rural transformation, the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (NIRD&PR), Hyderabad has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Innovations in Public Systems (CIPS), Hyderabad an autonomous body in the campus of Administrative Staff College of India.
Both the renowned institutions, henceforth, work together on jointly identifying areas of intervention and bring in innovative practices that have potential for replication, concentrate on transfer and adaptation of rural technologies beside promote, familiarise and disseminate various flagship programmes to the root level. Moreover, they would exchange the knowledge and expertise of both the institutions that include exchange of resource persons in order to propagate Good Governance. It is further decided to hold regional, national level workshops, conferences and training programmes on various subjects pertaining to improving rural livelihoods and replication of innovative practices etc.
While inking the MoU, it has been decided to commence the work immediately in respect of identifying the rural innovations and chinning up innovators besides working together on Bamboo Technologies, Fisheries Technologies and Moringa cultivation along with its value chain etc. It is also decided that the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) constituted will meet atleast once in a quarter to review and discuss with regard to the implementation of the tasks set forth to achieve the objectives of the MoU.
On behalf of Director General NIRD&PR Dr.G.Narendra Kumar, IAS and Director CIPS C.Achalendar Reddy, IFS (R) have signed the MoU in the presence of Professor Dr.G.Venkata Raju, Associate Professor Dr.Ramesh Sakthivel, Senior Consultant Mohammad Khan, Assistant Registrar NIRD&PR Manoj Kumar, Advisor CIPS Dr. Fareed Ahmed and Manager Administration CIPS Sri Vidya.
