NSUI, YC activists begin 48-hr fast against Inter results fiasco

HyderabadThe NSUI and Telangana State Youth Congress activists on Thursday launched a 48-hour hunger strike in the city condemning the attitude of the State government over the irregularities committed in the declaration of the Intermediate results.

Youth Congress president M. Anil Kumar Yadav and NSUI State president B. Venkat led the strike. The strike was launched by senior Congress leader M. Kodanda Reddy, Mahila Congress State president Nerella Sharada and TPCC vice-president Narasimha Reddy by garlanding the two leaders.

Speaking on the occasion,  All India Kisan Congress vice-president M. Kodanda Reddy demanded that the State government to not only verify the answer sheets of the failed students free of cost, but also make those answer sheets public. He alleged that the police were arresting the Congress leaders, who stood by the victims of the Inter results. He said they used to consider the agitation by the Opposition parties as their responsibility.

He alleged that the KCR government had failed in all sectors. He also alleged that atrocities and violence against people were increasing in the State day after day. He said he was proud of the young Congress party leaders, who have launched the strike. The Mahila Congress president Nerella Sharada said CM KCR was not even opening his mouth despite the fact that several acts of violence were being committed in the State against the women.

She also said that it had become a norm in TRS government that women were subjected to cruelty and violence. She asked the State government as to why the ruling party leaders, who work tirelessly to make the party events as grand success were not showing interest on solving problems. She made it clear that the Mahila Congress would not sleep until it lay a siege around Pragati Bhavan.

NSUI State president B. Venkat alleged that although several pleas to the Intermediate Board to solve the problems of the failed students, the Board officials did not pay heed to their pleas.  He asked the State government as to why it did not sack State Education Minister so far. He wondered if separate Telangana State was achieved to witness such deaths of the students. He demanded that the State government keep all the answer sheets of the students online.

Youth Congress president Anil Kumar Yadav said the State government was behaving as if nothing happened in Intermediate Board. He said both CM KCR and KTR were not feeling ashamed despite the deaths of so many students. He alleged that the contract of the board was given to Globarena during KTR’s tenure as IT minister. (NSS)
