NTPC-Telangana Project conducts two-day Welding Sensitization Program

Hyderabad: A two-day Welding Sensitization Program was organized by NTPC-Telangana and Corporate Quality Assurance (CQA) in association with BHEL at Telangana Project site on July 22-23, 2019 with the theme: “zero defect in welding”.

Inaugurating the event, Chief Guest of the occasion Dr P P Kulkarni, ED-Ramagundam & Telangana emphasized on Zero Defect in welding at very first attempt without any further repair. Dr Kulkarni also appreciated IBR qualified pressure welders who have achieved zero defect in doing pressure part welding at Telangana project.

A total of 77 representatives from NTPC, BHEL and other sub-agencies, who are directly involved in Welding, NDT & PWHT of Telangana Project construction works participated in the program.
During the two-day event, experts from BHEL, Welding Research Institute, Trichy will deliver lectures and discuss on typical problems faced while ensuring zero defect in welding.
Welding Simulator was also organized as part of the program in association with M/s Soldamatic-Spain (Welding Simulator manufacturer) which is very useful for training of welders as well as enhancing the welding skills.

During the inauguration session,  Prem Prakash, CGM (Project), Telangana; M K Asthana, GM (NI/WR); senior officials from NTPC-Telangana, BHEL and others were present. (NSS)
