Osmania Hospital building issue; HC asks govt to clarify its stand

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court today asked the state to clarify its stand on the old structure of the Osmania Hospital.

The court, however, questioned the advocate general that is the building comes under heritage or not? The bench observed that there is a difference of opinion on this issue.

One party feels that the old structure should be razed and the new building could come in its place however the second one opinion in totally differ with the first one who feels that the existing building should not demolish as it is heritage one.

The AG told the court that earlier 6crore rupees have allotted for the repair works and he will furnish the progress to the court. The court posted the next hearing of the case on 4th August.

In the meantime, the court heard other PILs which alleges that the government has not been implementing the right to education act truly. The petitioners claim that these PILs are pending before the court from 2015.

The court ordered the AG to file the Counter on this issue. The court posted the next hearing on 11 August of this year.
