Parents Protest In J&K Appealing Early Evacuation Of Children from Ukraine

As per the latest reports, the parents of students abandoned in Ukraine on Wednesday completed a protest in J&K’s Jammu city engaging for early evacuation of their children from the conflict torn country.

Authorities said the organization was in contact with the groups of 32 students having a place with the Jammu division who are abandoned in Ukraine. Authorities said nine clearing flights have up until this point brought back around 2,000 Indians abandoned in Ukraine since February 26.

“Upwards of 31 departure flights will be worked till March 8 to adjoining nations of Ukraine and 6,300 Indians will be brought back in those flights”, authorities said.

Restless parents organized the protest outside the neighborhood Press Club. The parents said their concerns have expanded after an student from Karnataka was killed in terminating in Kharkiv city of Ukraine.

The parents conveyed bulletins saying their children need petitions of their comrades for their security.

This comes after, an Indian student was killed in Kharkiv on Tuesday in the midst of tireless shelling in Ukraine’s second-biggest city. The fourth-year student, Naveen Shekharappa Gyanagoudar, was from Haveri, Karnataka.

Manoj Ranjan, Karnataka’s nodal official directing the departure, said, “It is exceptionally miserable,” he said, adding, “We appeal to all guardians to keep confidence. We will invest every one of our amounts of energy to guarantee students are emptied securely.”

Gyanagoudar, a last year clinical student at the Kharkiv National Medical University, was digging in with individual students in a dugout. The 21-year-old ventured out to purchase food Tuesday morning and was killed remaining in line before a store supermarket.

Service for External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi affirmed the student’s passing, tweeting: “With profound sorrow we confirm that an Indian student lost his life in shelling in Kharkiv this morning. The Ministry is in touch with his family. We convey our deepest condolences to the family.”
