Party Resentment Over BRS Ticket Allocation Prompts Speculation

Hyderabad: The publication of the 115-candidate list by Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President K. Chandrashekhar Rao has sparked resentment within the party’s ranks. Some party officials who were unable to get tickets are allegedly examining other choices, including switching to the Congress party.

According to reports, sitting Malkajgiri MLA Mynampally Hanumantha Rao, who openly insulted Minister Harish Rao and accused him of corruption, attempted to win a BRS ticket for his son Rohith Rao from the Medak constituency. With this bid failing, reports say Mynampally is now exploring offers from Congress officials, which supposedly guarantee him and his son seats in the Malkajgiri and Medak constituencies.

Ajmeera Rekha Naik, the BRS MLA from Khanapur, was also denied a ticket, and her husband, Shyam Naik, recently joined the Congress. This has prompted rumors that Rekha Naik will shortly join the Congress party.

According to sources, numerous more BRS leaders are considering joining other political parties in light of the party’s recent ticket allocation decisions.
