Hyderabad: Anjani Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City, invoked P.D. Act against Mohd. Amir of Market Police Station.
In a press release, the Commissioner said Mohd Amir, 33, residing at Sanjaywada, Shamshabad village in Ranga Reddy District, has been committing theft of gold ornaments by diverting attention of women available alone in their houses in Hyderabad and Cyberabad Police Commissionerates and Sangareddy District.
He said the Amir committed six such offences creating fear among the general public and acting in a manner prejudicial to the maintenance of public order apart from disturbing the peace, tranquility and social harmony in the society.
The Market Police arrested Mohd Amir on April 2 this year and remanded him to judicial custody. The Detention Order was executed on him on August 2, 2018 and lodged him in Central Prison, Chanchalguda. (NSS)
