Pink flag will flutter in Kodangal, Kutami men will forfeit deposits: Harish

Hyderabad: The Opposition parties’ combine “Mahakutami” will not win in the ensuing Assembly elections in Telangana, caretaker minister T Harish Rao today said. “This kutami will not get deposits in the elections as the people are set to offer mandate to the TRS leadership”, he said.

Addressing a meeting after welcoming some leaders of Kodangal Assembly constituency into the TRS at Telangana Bhavan today, Harish Rao expressed hope that the TRS will hoist Pink flag in Kodangal segment in the elections. He lashed out at the Congress for bringing back the TDP leadership which was chased away by the TRS only for political gain.

The Congress has been accustomed to bow before migrant rulers, who used to have upper hand always in the governance, he remarked. The Congress was indulging in loathsome politics by befriending its arch rival Chandrababu Naidu, Harish fumed.

The TRS leader accused the Congress leaders of trying kneel before TD Chief N Chandrababu Naidu for his money for the elections. The TDP, which is the partner of Mahakutami, is learnt to have sought irrigation and home portfolios to stall irrigation projects and come out of “note for vote” case respectively, he said. However, the Congress leaders have to be wary of Naidu’s conspiracies, he suggested.

Harish also recalled that Telangana Congress leaders kept mum when then chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy declared in the Assembly that he would not give even a single rupee to Telangana. Similarly, late YS Rajasekhar Reddy vehemently spoke against statehood for Telangana at a meeting in the Rayalaseema region. (NSS)
