PM Modi to flag off Goa’s first Vande Bharat Express on Tuesday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off Goa’s first Vande Bharat Express on Tuesday morning from Madgaon railway station via video conferencing.

Speaking to Media, Baban Ghatge, Deputy General Manager of Konkan Railway Corporation Limited, said the program will take place at around 9 a.m. at Madgaon railway station. “Union Minister for State for Tourism Shripad Naik and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant alone will be present for the program,” Ghatge said.

The train will run between Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Goa’s Madgaon station. It will cover the journey in approximately seven and a half hours, which will help save about one hour of journey time, compared with the current fastest train connecting the two places.
