PM requests ideas to make India manufacturing hub, Ministers caught unprepared

New Delhi: In a spite to encourage local markets and boycott China-made products, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the Council of Ministers to come up with creative and realistic ideas to transform India into a manufacturing centre.

This has come after the latest violent clash in the Galwan Valley between the Indian and Chinese troops. To tackle the dependency of India on China which account for 15% of India’s trades, the Prime Minister sought original propositions to change them into policies capable enough to boost industrial growth which can help create more job opportunities for Indians.

The 165 minutes interactive session of the PM commenced at 5pm on June 20th. During the infamous ‘Man kibaat’ virtual speech, the Ministers of the nation were asked for their opinions and ideas to empower the economy of the country and increase its growth.

The interactive session was regarding China and manufacturing challenges that India is facing. The virtual platform was organized by the National Informatics Centre.

Out of all the Council of ministers, a few of them, including the Defence Minister and the External Affairs Minister, were not present during the virtual meeting.

The Ministers were given a heads-up related to the interaction, including its prime motive on June 19th.

However, upon asking for their respective ideas to be presented before the Prime Minister by the PM himself, all the delegates seemed to have attended the session without getting ready for it.

All, except one, were “caught unprepared” when told to put forth their suggestions.

According to sources, the Prime Minister “pulled up” a few Ministers for not doing much even after being told about the meeting prior to it. He said Ministers were not kings and queens or belonged to royalties. He said all of them had “struggled from the ground” over many years and only then became worthy to come to their current position. And continued saying that however, the ministers weren’t coming up with any ideas at all, reported IANS through several confirmed sources.

The Prime Minister expressed his anger and frustration over the ignorance of the Ministers and said that he doesn’t want any sort ideas from ministries, departments or the bureaucrats but rather from the ministers. He asked them to think and formulate their “own original and realistic ideas that can be implemented”.

He also said how the bureaucrats were reluctant to new thoughts or ideas of governance during his first term and asked the Ministers not to take bureaucrats’ words as the binding one.

Highlighting the prime booster for India’s present economic growth bring the sector of services, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told the ministers to immerse their thoughts into ways to make the nation a global manufacturing hub.

Later on June 25, a few Ministers went to the Prime Minister’s residence and presented between 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. their suggestions and ideas how India could become a manufacturing hub.

To find out ways to curb the dependency of India on China in regards to manufacture of products, the government is aiming to set up production units in India to become self-reliant. The growing tensions between India and China has led to this decision.
