Hyderabad: Police took in custody two persons, who were trying to bury a baby alive, near the Jubilee Bus Station in the city on today morning.
The two persons were spotted by an auto-rickshaw driver around 9.30 a.m at the open ground near the Bus Station, while digging a pit, with a bag in hand. The auto driver informed the police about this.
According to the police, the two persons hailing from Karimnagar district were carrying the baby in a bag and on questioning, they informed the police constable S Venkata Ramakrishna, that the baby had died. They came out with the plea that they were burying the dead infant as they were not allowed to take it onboard public transport and that one of them was the grandfather of the infant.
Police further said that when the constable checked the bag, he found that a baby girl aged around three days, was alive. The two persons were taken into custody and the baby was immediately shifted to Gandhi Hospital. The two persons are being questioned by the police.
