Political Heat over Farm bills, Derek seen trying to tear house rule book

New Delhi: Center desperate to pass the Farm bills, Opposition creates a massive ruckus on Sunday as The government sought to clear Agriculture bills, the Opposition tries to block them as Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien tries to tear the rule book and snatch the mic.

During the Debate on The farm bills, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Derek O’Brien goes near the chair and tries to Tear the Rule book and called the bill “Kala qanoon”, and he was also heard saying, “You cannot do this” to the chair. The argument got so heated that the Deputy Chairperson who was conducting the house at that point of time had to come to Guard.

An unpredicted argument occurred when the Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar was answering the opposition’s questions in the house on the bills related to agriculture. In fact, dissatisfied with the reply of Union Minister Tomar, MPs from the Congress, Trinamool Congress, and Aam Aadmi Party reached near the Vice-chairman. During this heated argument, TMC MP broke the mic and tries to tear the papers and Also, an attempt was made to snatch the bill from the Deputy Chairman.

At the same time, many opposition parties leaders also came near the Vice-chairman of the house. Congress leader  Ghulam Nabi Azad asked to conduct the debate on Monday and also said that “To decide this, we should go by the harmony of the House members, not by the numbers of the ruling party”.

In spite of the Deputy Chairperson of the Upper House Harivansh Narayan reminding about the infectious nature of the current COVID-19  pandemic, many opposition party leaders refused to give up and continued to shout slogans near the well.

Before the chaos broke out, Narendra Singh Tomar Union Agriculture Minister guaranteed the Upper house, “MSPs will not be touched at any cost. It is not just these Bills, many steps have been taken to double farmers’ income in the past 6 years.

There is no need to doubt that farmers will continue to avail MSP”.

Although, following the animated and aggressive protests by Derek O’Brien, the House was adjourned.
