The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) will revive the popular Sunday-Funday at Tank Bund from February 19.
The recently inaugurated country’s largest musical floating fountain at Hussain Sagar Lake is all set to be an added attraction.
The musical floating fountain, which was inaugurated by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), will add to the appeal of the Sunday Funday event.
It will be played four times for about 15 minutes with a gap of an hour, starting from 7 pm till 10 pm, on Sunday and has about six tunes.
The Sunday-Funday program, which began two years ago, has proven to be a success, with people enjoying band performances, cultural activities, and games.
With the entire Tank Bund s stretch made traffic free during the program hours, a large number of people used to come for a leisurely stroll and enjoy the snacks.
It has not been held in recent weeks for a variety of reasons.
Tank Bund, located in the heart of the city, is one of the oldest hangout spots for the citizens of Hyderabad. Its natural beauty draws people from all over the city to relax and spend their leisure time there, especially in the evenings.

To allow citizens to enjoy the beauty of the area while also ensuring citizens’ safety, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K.T. Rama Rao proposed traffic-free Sundays on the Tank Bund road from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Later, the initiative, Sunday Funday at Tank Bund in Hyderabad, received a massive response, with people flocking to the location with their families, taking photos, and spending quality time.
For the next Sunday Funday, HMDA is planning to make the traffic free Sundays as ‘Fundays’ for the families thereby making it an immersive and enjoyable experience.
