“Prematho” a Helping hand to the Needy to Save them from the Winter

Hyderabad: People are suffering a lot with chilled weather during the present winter season as the temperatures are continuously going down. Moved by the pathetic conditions prevailing for the deprived section of people, South Central Railway’s Guntakal Division made a new beginning with the intention of convening Noble Social Mission on the first day of New Year 2021.

The social cause initiative is named “PREMATHO” and a platform has been established to implement the program near the approach of Guntakal Railway station.  Alok Tiwari, Divisional Railway Manager, Guntakal Division inaugurated the ‘Prematho’ program on 1st January 2021. The venue of the noble social mission is located on the approach road to Guntakal Railway Station.

Under this initiative, Railway officers and staff were informed and motivated about the social cause of donating any kind of dress material, bed sheets, winter wear, etc., new or used clothes, or any other individual and domestic utility articles. In response to the call given by the divisional administration, a good number of people came forward to participate in the noble mission with their donations. Looking at the importance and relevance of the cause initiated by Railways, a large number of people belonging to various civil societies are also participating by enthusiastically donating. Poor and Needy people who need clothes and other utility articles can visit the location to just pick and take away the required material as per their choice and need.

The initiative evoked great response instantly and about 100 pieces of dress material in good condition were kept which were donated by Railway Officers and staff. The program was also an instant success as the maximum material which was put for donation has been picked up by poor and needy people. Local shopkeepers also came forward and participated in the initiative to maintain order at the site.

During the first two days of the program, more than 300 people visited the ‘Prematho’ platform and picked the material of their choice.  Bala Muralidhar, Senior Divisional Personnel Officer, Guntakal Division is actively coordinating the program. Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway appreciated the efforts made by the Guntakal Division to serve the cause of the poor and needy. Serve with a smile has been the motto of South Central Railway and it has become a reality with the new concept, he stated. He complimented the efforts of the Divisional Railway Manager and other Divisional officers.
