Private schools seek early reopening of schools in the state

Claiming that around 3000 budget private schools are on the verge of closure due to financial crisis, a delegation of Telangana Recognised Schools Management Association (TRSMA) today called on Chief Secretary to Government Somesh Kumar and urged the government for an early announcement of reopening of schools in the state.

The delegation also urged the government to release a comprehensive calendar for the academic year 2020-21 along with an examination schedule of Formative and Summative Assessments (FAs & SAs) and extend the academic year by 30th July 2021 to overcome the loss of the learning period.

“We are optimistic that the government will announce the reopening of schools with immediate effect as the budget schools are already entangled in financial crises due to pandemics,” said Yadgiri Shaker Rao, President Telangana Recognised Schools Management Association (TRSMA).

Most of the parents, he further said, are optimistic and are looking forward to seeing the early re-opening of schools as the academic studies of the children have been badly affected due to the closure of schools since a year post coronavirus outbreak.

In his fervent appeal to all the parents, he said, “The parents should keep pressuring the government with a demand to reopen the schools as soon as possible as the damage has already been done to the education sector identically affecting the academic institutions as well as the academic year of the students.”

Talking in a similar tone, the other unions too welcome the governments’ decision to reopen the school but have sought few relaxations that, according to them, is necessary to put their academic houses into order.

General Secretary TRSMA S.Madhusudhan and Treasurer I.V.Ramana Rao also presented at the occasion.
