Raja Singh asks CM to stop sale of cattle in villages

Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh on Tuesday alleged Muslims of slaughtering cows on Baqra’eid festival to hurt the sentiments and feelings of Hindus who worship cows as ‘Gaomata,’ urging Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to instruct gram panchayats against selling cattle for trade in light of the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha festival.

Singh stated this in a letter to KCR. He also asked the CM to put a stop to the alleged illegal slaughter of cows and their offspring not just on Baqra’eid, but every day of the year.

“I can challenge that all the registered legal slaughterhouses in the State are engaged in illegal slaughter of healthy cattle,” the BJP legislator said, according to Hans India.

He urged KCR to form special police teams and a task force to monitor the activities of illegal butchers and called for the rehabilitation of the rescued cows. Singh also suggested that the government establish special squads to prevent the illegal sale of cows and calves.

The BJP MLA stated that it is KCR’s responsibility to “respect the constitution” and asked him to stop the alleged illegal slaughter of cows and their offspring not only on Bakri Eid but 365 days a year.

Aside from the letter to the CM, the BJP MLA also wrote to the Director-General of Police, M Mahender Reddy. He urged the DGP to issue strict penalties to those caught illegally transporting cattle in Hyderabad.

The SHOs and subordinate staff are not cooperating in booking cases against the accused, he said.

Yuga Thulasi Foundation, a city-based cow protection group, had also urged the Telangana director general of police to investigate the alleged “illegal transportation” of cattle in Hyderabad on the pretext of Eid ul Adha.  Sai Kumar, the founder of the Foundation, claimed that cow smuggling is rampant in Hyderabad
