Hyderabad: Adilabad former MP Ramesh Rathod and his wife Suman Rathod joined Congress leaving the ruling TRS today in the presence of Telangana Congress party affairs in-charge RC Kuntia and TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy at Gandhi Bhavan along with their followers.
Speaking on the occasion, Uttam said the election notification may come in mid-October and there was a chance that the elections will be held in November or December. He alleged that the huge irregularities took place in voter list in the State. He hoped that the party may be strengthened with the joining of Ramesh Rathod in Adilabad district. He alleged that caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was suppressing the SCs and STs in the State.
“KCR has forgotten martyrs after coming to power with the sacrifices of martyrs”, he said and called upon the party workers to ensure the victory of 10 constituencies in old Adilabad district as was happened in the past. He said the coming elections were not between Congress and the TRS party but between KCR family and Telangana people. He reiterated that the Congress will waive off Rs 2 lakh loan at one go if it comes to power providing beneficial price to 17 crops produced in the State. (NSS)
