Rekha, Sithakka spar in Assembly

TRS MLA Rekha Naik today lashed out at Congress MLA in the house on the issue of the development of tribal villages. The ruling party member said that chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has been developing the tribal villages and transformed the thandas into village panchayats.

Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy asked Rekha Naik to continue to talk in their mother tongue Lambada language instead of switching over to Telugu. Then she continued in Lambada dialect and sometimes spoke in Telugu too.

Besides they were being developed with basic facilities and Mission Bhagiratha waters in the villages. The successive governments in undivided Andhra Pradesh have ignored the thandas and tribal areas she charged. When she was talking about development programs in the tribal villages and hamlets, Sithakka retorted and asked about the same. Where does development works are going on the Congress members asked in the house?

At this Rekha said that Sithakka does not know about the development in some of the lambada thandas and tribal locations. What you know about Bapunagar thanda, Indravelli and Utnoor areas she rebutted. Rekha Naik also lost cool and got emotional citing that they were neglected by the previous governments before bifurcation.

Now that the TRS regime is doing its best by giving funds, potable waters to these villages, she claimed. In addition to giving three-phase of power supply, the lambada thandas and tribal areas are getting Mission Bhagiratha waters
