Repeat Covid 19 Guidelines Offender Fined For Rs 10,000 in Uttar Pradesh

Amidst the rising cases across the nation, a man from Uttar Pradesh recently recorded his name and became the first offender to be fined for Rs 10,000 for not wearing a facemask.

Repeat Offender Pays Heavy Fine For Not Following Covid Guidelines

As per the latest report, the man belongs to the Deoria district. He has previously been fined of Rs 1000 for not wearing a face mask. When he repeated the offense, he was charged with Rs 10,000 for the same offense.

The police released a statement and said that Amarjit Yadav from the Bariyarpur police circle area in the Deoria region was found roaming without a face mask on April 17 and April 18. Station House Officer (SHO), Lar T.J Singh said that Amarjit on Monday was spotted at the main crossing in Lar without a face mask.

As soon as the police saw him, they fined him for Rs 10,000. Singh said that they had left him earlier on April 18 and fined him of Rs 1000 for not wearing a face mask. They also gave him a face mask.

Superintendent of Police in Deoria, Shripati Mishra said that they have noted a sudden surge in the active coronavirus cases across the state. Following this, the police have been trying to enforce safety protocols in the district. Deoria reports 390 active cases on Monday.

Mishra also said that they have formed teams. They have divided the districts into sectors to ensure that the Covid 19 safety protocols are properly enforced. Any one who is seen not following the protocols will first be given a warning and then will be fined for Rs 1000. If the offense is repeated then the person will be charged for Rs 10,000.

Uttar Pradesh Announces Lockdown

The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday announced a weekend curfew and a night curfew across the state. Uttar Pradesh Home Department’s Additional Chief Secretary Awanish Aswasthi said that the weekend lockdown will start from April 23 on Saturday and Sunday.

Lockdown will be in effect from Friday 8pm to Monday 7 am. Only essential services will be allowed to operate during the lockdown.
